Can't review the rifle yet. Rifle won't get used until late next year when my son gets back back from Okinawa.

Always wanted a Barrett M82A1. Shot a few over the years and could never afford one. I have had a magazine for one for about 20 years and now have the gun to put it in.

I am not sure what to say. It is big, heavy, impractical and expensive. But it is accurate, fun to shoot, well made and my neighbor loves it. He just can't say enough about it.

The bolt action version is significantly cheaper but went with the M82A1 because I am getting old and felt like the bolt action may beat me up more than I like.

There’s absolutely nothing that compares to a 50 cal. Everything is extreme about it, from the time you place the order, to the faces of the employees at the local FFL, to the first time you and all your buddies pull the trigger on it. It just screams freedom. I’ll be paying for it for a long time, but nothing has ever felt more worth it.

Gun prime is awesome as well, reasonable shipping price and speed, and they don’t charge theft (tax). Definitely recommend them.

I have not shot my Barrett yet , however the gun arrived in custom pelican case and I was happy to marry a night force scope to it .
